This morning I heard Rachel Martin's interview with Bomba Estéreo's instrumentalist Simon Mejia on Weekend Edition. In it, Mejia talks about the band's music video "Soy Yo," a tribute to being free to be one's self. "So we're trying to empower people to feel that it doesn't matter if you're different or if you're from one country or the other or you're black or you're white or you're gay. What's important is what's inside of you, and you have to fight for that," says Mejia. The music video is hilarious and moving and well worth the two minutes and five-six seconds of your time. This little girl can teach all of us a thing or two about being true to what's inside of us.
